There were Ukrainian migrant workers among eight victims killed during a clash between a train and a minibus. They worked at seasonal jobs in Poland, the press service of the police in Lodz, the city next to the accident scene, reported.

According to the preliminary information of the police, it was a driver’s fault that caused the accident, as he ignored the grade crossing signals.

Police also reported that the minibus where ten people were traveling was designed to carry six people only. Two people with injuries were taken to hospital.

The press service noted that the governor of Lodz region Jolanta Chełmińska and the deputy commander of police in Lodz Dariusz Manovetski personally visited the accident scene.
