The speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn is sure that the Parliament is not to approve the simultaneous holding of the Kyiv mayor election and the parliamentary elections on October 28.
He said that that he had sent the letter of the secretary of the Kyiv city council Halyna Hereha, appealing to appoint the date for the mayor election, to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building and Local Government for study.
Lytvyn considers necessary to decide also on the holding of election in several other regions. He believes that the MPs are to decide on these issues during the first plenary week of the new session in September.
