The changes in requirements of the Affordable Housing state program will allow the Ukrainians living in district centers of Ukrainian regions to enjoy preferential mortgages, the director of the Poltava regional directorate of the Ukrgaz bank Joint-Stock bank Mykhailo Achkasov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The changes introduced allow covering people from district centers. Now they also can enjoy mortgage lending at 3%," he said.

However, according to the banker, this state program has its drawbacks.
"The vague definition of "a person in need of housing" presents the main problem. Currently, such are those who stand in the queue to get housing, but I think that we have more people in need of better housing conditions," he said.

According to Achkasov, the bank helps people, who want to take a mortgage loan, to join the queue.

"In general, the public sector workers, teachers, the Interior Ministry employees, the doctors, are applying to us," he said.
