Warsaw prosecutor's office decided to initiate a formal investigation into obscene statements of the DJs of the Polish Radio Eska Rock Michał Figurski and Kuba Wojewódzki about Ukrainian women aired in their Poranny WF satirical show in June.
The representative of the Polish prosecutor's office reported that the investigators had classified the case under the article of the Criminal Code, which provides the punishment for "public insult of group of people or an individual because of his national, ethnical, racial or religious affiliation or lack of religious belief" up to three years of imprisonment.
The investigation of the case will be conducted by the police.
The representative of the prosecutor's office added that the court, besides delivering the sentence, may also punish the offenders financially by inflicting a penalty of about 25-250 thousand euros.
