The flag of Ukraine, symbolizing the state is ready for the Olympics, was hoisted in London’s Olympic Village.
According to the National Olympic Committee, the flags of Argentina, Hong Kong, Turkey were hoisted along with our state flag.
The ceremony, which lasted less than 30 minutes, started with acrobatic theater performance. After the official speeches and flag hoisting procedure, the Olympic village mayor gave the NOC President Serhiy Bubka and the chief of the Ukrainian delegation at the Olympic Games in London Nina Umanets symbolic gifts and they presented him with the Ukrainian souvenirs.
"Ukrainian Olympians are ready for honest and uncompromising struggle to compete at the Olympic Games," Bubka said.
The flag hoisting ceremony was attended by the chairman of the State Service for Youth and Sport Ravil Safiullin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Volodymyr Khandohiy, the coaches and athletes, who had already arrived in the Olympic Village.
On July 27, London will host Olympics opening ceremony.
As reported, 245 Ukrainian athletes will participate in the Summer Olympics 2012.
