Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko received the permission for a meeting with EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira on a basis of her statement. However, the ambassador seemed to do not know about the meeting taking place.

"Tomorrow, on July 25, the EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira and the deputy chairman of the Party "Batkivshchyna" Oleksandr Turchynov will come to me on a short visit... I will conduct a meeting with both at the same time," the convict said in her statement.

The SPSU authority reported it had not recently received such appeals from the ambassador and added it was not obliged to inform the diplomat about such possibility.

"The SPSU believes that convicted Tymoshenko had grounds and preliminary agreements with persons of interest before writing such a statement. Consequently, the administration of Kachanivska Penal Colony No. 54 granted the permission to Tymoshenko for a private meeting. And the administration has no obligation to inform anyone about such decisions, except the person who has filed a statement," the State Service emphasized.

The SPSU reported that Tymoshenko was informed about the decision immediately on the same day. However, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira did not arrive to the meeting.
