The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine increased the basic student scholarships,
the vice Prime Minister, the social policy minister Serhiy Tihipko told the journalists after the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Today, the Cabinet approved a very important decision on student scholarships. This decision eliminates the problem recently discussed. The basic student scholarship significantly increased," Tihipko said.
He explained that the size of the basic scholarship for students was established in 2008. Thereafter this level was recalculated for several times depending on the level of inflation, but still the amount of the basic scholarship remained unchanged.
"We decided to increase the size of the basic scholarship. From now on the scholarships in the educational institutions of III-IV accreditation level will amount to 730 UAH."
