Kyiv police officers have detained 19 illegal immigrants from Afghanistan.
According to the Department of Public Affairs of the main department of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv, the law enforcement officers have received information about a large group of illegal immigrants living in a private house on the territory of holiday array in the Dnipro district of the capital.
"It is established that the owner of the country house is a 37-year-old local resident. He has explained that he was requested by a friend and agreed to settle illegal immigrants in his house for money reward," the statement said.
According to the foreigners, the fighting in Afghanistan made them leave their native land and cross several borders. It is noted that Ukraine was chosen by illegal immigrants as a transit territory for further entry to Europe.
