The National Commission on State Regulation of Market Financial Services offers to criminalize the creation and promotion of financial pyramids.
The text of the draft law "On amendments to the Criminal Code (regarding a ban on pyramid schemes) is published on the official website of the commission.
Under the amendments, it is suggested that the "creation, promotion activities, participation offers, advertising pyramid scheme" will be punished by the public works up to 240 hours, the correctional labor for two years or the custodial restraint for a term of three years. If a crime is committed repeatedly or by prior agreement of persons, the punishment will be more severe and include the correctional labor for a term from one to two years, the custodial restraint for five years or the imprisonment up to three years.
