Today the celebration on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the national flag-raising ceremony is held in Kyiv.
At four pm representatives of the Kyiv city state administration and the secretariat of the Kyiv City Council will meet with deputies of the City Council of the first convocation, who on July 24, 1990 participated in one of the most historic events for Ukraine - raising of the blue-yellow flag on the mast in front of the Kyiv City Council in Khreshchatyk, 36.
To remind, it was the city council officials, who adopted a relevant resolution on approving the blue-yellow symbol of a sovereign state.
In 2000 the Kyiv City Council adopted a decision to celebrate the Day of Ukrainian national flag on July 24.
