The new Customs Code (CC) provides for only seven reasons for the delay of goods at customs, the head of the Kyiv regional customs Dmitry Polischuk told a press conference, as ForUm reports.
The official said that only these formal reasons are the grounds for the delay of goods at customs longer than four hours provided by law. "Whereas there were 30 reasons in the old CC," he said.
He added that the work of each customs post includes the economic and the law enforcement aspect., including customs clearance, rejection of the bills, electronic declaration and screening.
"Thus, since the entry into force of the new Code the number of refusals has reduced six times - to the level of 2%, while in May it equaled to 12%. The number of inspections has also reduced several times: for example, if earlier we inspected 70% of imports, now the share has dropped to 8%. As for export, this figure has decreased from 50% to 3%," the customs officer continued.
He said that in the first half of the year the Kyiv Regional Customs transferred about 12 billion UAH to the state budget of Ukraine. "In general, every month we usually transfer about 2 billion UAH to the state budget," Polischuk said.
