Ukraine and the EU may sign the free trade area agreement by the end of 2012, the economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

The minister said that "we need only one thing – a political will. I am Euro-optimist. I am convinced that our country is capable of fulfilling all the conditions and commitments to adjust the legislation and standards. Absolutely all problems can be solved".
In addition, according to Poroshenko, Russia's joining the WTO opens new possibilities before Ukraine.

"We have to eliminate market access barriers by joint, I emphasize, joint efforts. We conduct absolutely positive dialogue with Russia, which opens new prospects after its joining the WTO," he stressed.
