The turnover growth in Ukraine’s trade sector has amounted to 15% since the beginning of the year, the minister of the trade and economic development of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said at a meeting on the occasion of the Trade Day, as ForUm reports.

According to the minister, the trade contribution to the GDP dynamics has made 228 billion UAH for this period.

"I should also note the significant contribution of trade to the establishing of a positive image of the country during Euro 2012," the official said.

However, according to him, the external trade processes remain relevant for the domestic economy.
"I consider the removal of trade barriers against the Ukrainian goods on foreign markets as one of the key priorities of Ukraine's economic development. Our chances in this regard have increased since the entry into the WTO. And yesterday the Ministry completed the initialing of the agreement on the free trade area with the EU. More than one thousand pages are fully developed and approved, which provides access of our producers to the world's largest market," Poroshenko summed up.
