The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov offers to devote one of the following meetings of the Cabinet to the Ukrainian road safety, the head of the government said at a meeting with representatives of public associations in the field of road safety, ForUm correspondent reports.

"We need to hold a meeting of the government to listen to all departments on road traffic safety and to choose one to put in charge.  It is also necessary to establish a working group with your participation, which will develop a program of actions to reduce the road casualties, as of today we have 40 thousand injured on the roads," Azarov said.

The Prime Minister was not satisfied with the measures proposed by the public members for reducing the road deaths.

"You are offering passive measures. It will not work if we just identify particularly dangerous places, conduct full analysis of all traffic signs, or determine only one organization that will be responsible for the road safety. Suggestions have been made and taken into account, but still this is a passive approach. We need more serious program to provide road safety," the Prime Minister said.
