A new position has been introduced into the school staff of Ukrainians schools with inclusive education- teaching assistant. These specialists will help children with special needs to master the school program. The Cabinet adopted the relevant decree on July 18.
"Teaching assistants and teachers are supposed to enrich the school program and to help children with psychophysical disorders to gain knowledge and skills, required to become part of the school community," the department of youth and sport said in a statement.
According to the decree, any teacher, who has passed qualification courses for inclusive education, can take the position of the teaching assistant.
The main tasks of the teaching assistant are to adapt the school program to the children with special needs and to implement correctional methods in the existing education system.
