In Kyiv this summer season the number of drowned people has decreased ten times compared with the last year, the head of the State Inspection for Technogenic Safety of Ukraine Taras Polishchuk said at the press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the official, in 2011 the capital was one of the regions showing the worst rate, at that time 66 people were killed. "As of today, it is only six people. This is not such a bad figure considering the holding of Euro 2012 and many foreign visitors," he said.
Also, the number of victims has decreased six times in Lviv and four times in Kharkiv, "although there were 102 accidents in Kharkiv last year," the expert added. The number of the drowned people in the Volyn region has fallen 3.5 times.
