The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has promised that the water quality in Ukraine will correspond to the European standards in the near future, he said during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, as ForUm reports.
"The water in Ukraine will meet the European standards. It's a matter of not so distant future," he said.
The Prime Minister noted that the budgets need to focus on the projects that comprehensively solve the water supply problem in areas. "There are areas with absolutely unsatisfied water quality. I has set a task before the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Regional Development and other departments to develop within a week a working plan to quickly improve the situation on those territories where the water quality was doubted by scientists," Azarov summarized.
