During the Cabinet’s meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the State Inspectorate for Safety in the land transport to hold a month of road safety in August, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The situation, when a person who studied for two months in a driving school and received a driver's license is engaged in passenger transportation, is inadmissible," he said.

Azarov also instructed the Infrastructure Ministry and the Interior Ministry to revise the system of admission of the drivers to passenger transportation by highway transport.

"There is an urgent need for establishing tighter control over the health condition of drivers. The requirements for movement of passenger buses at night should be reconsidered once again. The time spent by a driver at the wheel, as well as presence of co-drivers of long-distance buses at any time of day should be constantly checked as well," Azarov said.
