Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has managed to bring to the new level the negotiations between official Chisinau and Tiraspol, FM spokesman Oleh Voloshyn told a pres conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"On June 12-13 Vienna hosted the negotiations in the format "5+2". One of the priorities of Ukraine's presidency in OSCE is successful settlement of the Transdnestrian conflict. The very fact of negotiations proves that the relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol have improved thanks to Kyiv," Voloshyn said.
Acording to the official, the sides are seeking a compromise to settle the conflict. "Ukraine stands for sovereignty of Moldova, but interests of other countries should not be harmed either," the diplomat summed up.
As a reminder, in the negotiations in the format "5+2" Ukraine is one of the mediators and guarantors.
