The issue of visa-free regime with the European Union went beyond the competence of the Foreign Ministry, the head of the Department of Information Policy of the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Oleh Voloshyn said at the press conference, as ForUm reports.
"The issue of the visa-free regime with EU is Ukraine's homework. It is not the issue of the Foreign Ministry any more," he said.
According to Voloshyn, the cancellation of visa regime with the EU depends on a decision on the issues of the biometric passports, the immigration laws and the international treaties on human trafficking.
"We coordinate it, but it is not our issue. We hope that our colleagues will also actively work as the Foreign Minister, to get a road map. We worry about the non-fulfillment of certain issues. There is the instruction of President to make everything possible to cancel the visa regime with the EU," he added.
