The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has instructed to create a special government commission to verify compliance with legal requirements in purchase of medicines for public funds to treat children with cancer, particularly hematologic, and to ensure proper quality, safety and efficacy of these medications. In this respect the activity of the Ministry of Health, the Council of Ministers of Crimea, Kyiv and Sevastopil city administrations will be inspected, the Cabinet press service reports.

The Prime Minister gave the appropriate instruction in connection with a complex situation with provision of necessary medicines for child oncology departments of the state hospitals.

The government commission includes representatives of the State Financial Supervision Authority, the Antimonopoly Committee, the State Service on Drugs and the National Academy of Medical Sciences.

The Commission starts its work today and should report on the results of inspections to the head of the government within ten days.
