The number of military divisions which train the reserve officers will be axed in connection with the reformation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the military education, the chief of main defence planning department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lieutenant general Volodymyr Askarov said at the press briefing: "The Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2012 academic year", ForUm correspondent reports.
He recalled that currently 33 educational institutions of Ukraine have got the military divisions.
"Indeed, we have a lot of military arts divisions, but there are few of them in the staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These divisions train the reserve officers who are brought on charge by our military commissariat. But with the reformation of the Armed Forces the system of military education will be significantly improved," Askarov said.
According to him, currently it is unknown how many military divisions will be kept to continue training, as the reform concept is only developing and has not been approved yet.
