We have initiated the further employment program for the redundant staff of the Euro 2012 Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Euro 2012 director in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"One of the largest investments made by the UEFA is the investment in human resources. Within the project, the best experts in various fields were selected and recruited. Now my main job is to sign the decrees of their dismissal," he said.

At the same time Lubkivsky said that the LOC office will run until December this year. "With regard to staff of the project, we have initiated the further employment program. Still before the completion of the tournament, the representatives of the local organizing committees for various activities were interested in our experts," he said.

Lubkivsky also said that some of the LOC members already signed contracts with the organizers of the Olympic Games in Sochi.

In addition, he reported that during the Euro 2012, 2879 volunteers who had been selected and prepared by UEFA were working in Ukraine. "The oldest volunteer was 78-year-old driver from Donetsk, the longest path to us did a volunteer from Peru Pedro Martin Mendoza-Strelchuk," Lubkivsky said.

He also reported that four volunteers from each of the host cities will undertake an internship in the UEFA headquarters in September this year.
