A certain progress was achieved during the last meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov posted on Facebook, chatting with the network users, ForUm learned from the Cabinet’s press office.

"A certain progress was achieved and the specific tasks were given on gas issue at the last meeting of two Presidents," he said.

The head of the government noted that the work on amending the gas contract with Russia continues. "I've talked about how it is difficult to amend such an unequal treaty. Nevertheless, we will actively work in this direction," Azarov said.

In addition, responding the question “Will the gas price for Ukraine be cheaper due to decrease in oil prices on world markets”, the PM said: "The world market is ruled by several factors. Among the factors that lower oil prices is a factor of world economic recession. Among the factors that increase the oil prices is the unstable political situation in the oil countries. Depending on the predominance of a certain trend, the market reacts to it either by decrease or by increase in prices. Therefore we cannot predict something categorically. "
