The signing of a number of important Russian-Ukrainian documents, in particular, the joint declaration of Presidents of the two countries on the maritime delimitation of the Black and Azov and the Kerch Strait, confirms the status of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Russia, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Kluyiev said, ForUm learned from the NSDCU press office.
According to him, the delimitation of the maritime border is a strategically important issue for our country and it is good news we have almost completed this process.
Kluyiev stressed that this is a vivid example of a responsible approach aimed at the result. "When there are many unresolved issues, we must constructively, maybe slowly, but steadily moving forward for the benefit of both countries. After all, it concerns not just the border - we must work effectively to activate both navigation and mining on the shelf. The secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine as well considers important other documents signed at the end of the fifth meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian Interstate Commission, in particular, on the joint parallel running of electric energy systems of both countries on cooperation in nuclear energy field, on the technical and scientific cooperation in Antarctica, on prevention and relief of emergency situations.
Kluyiev express his hope for further enhancing the Ukrainian-Russian bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sphere.
