The liberalization of crossing the Ukrainian-Russian state border to ensure comfortable conditions for the citizens of Ukraine and Russia is being monitored by the Presidents of both countries, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told a press conference after the meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission, ForUm learned from the President’s press office.

"I and Vladimir Putin noted the positive results of joint action in liberalizing the procedure for crossing the Ukraine-Russia state border by the citizens of our countries," Yanukovych said.
According to him, this very issue is being monitored personally by the Presidents, and yesterday it was agreed to intensify cooperation in this direction in order to ensure the comfortable conditions for the citizens of Ukraine and Russia.

Yanukovych also said that during the meeting were "outlined the prospects for further work within the framework of inter-regional and cross-border cooperation, which currently is one of the fastest growing areas." The President is sure that holding the third traditional Ukrainian-Russian inter-regional economic forum under the patronage of the Presidents this fall in Nizhny Novgorod will be an additional impetus in this promising area of cooperation.
