The Russian President Putin rules out the possibility of reconsideration of the gas contract with Ukraine, he told a press conference in Yalta after the meeting of the Interstate Commission.
According to him, the valid agreement between the two countries is of corporate nature.
Putin also said that Ukraine and Russia agreed at the governmental level and at the presidential level to entrust economic entities "Gazprom" and "Naftogaz Ukraine" to consider "all the options for improving their relations."
"We know the position of our partners and treat it with respect," Putin said, adding that Russia would like to reach agreements in the future.
As a reminder, Ukraine declared its intention to reduce the purchase of Russian gas in 2012 from the contracted 52 billion cubic meters of gas to 27 billion cubic meters due to high fuel prices.
