245 Ukrainian Olympians will go to the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London, ForUm learned from the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine press office.
The Ukrainian team composition was announced today by the president of the National Olympic Committee Serhiy Bubka.
The Ukrainians will compete in 28 sports - badminton, boxing, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, weightlifting, cycling (mountain bike, road, track), rowing, rowing and canoeing, sailing, gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics , judo, equestrian sports, athletics, swimming, synchronized swimming, shooting, archery, trampoline, diving, modern pentathlon, tennis, table tennis, triathlon, taekwondo, fencing.
The greatest representation of our Olympians is in athletics - 78 athletes, rowing - 24, swimming - 14, wrestling and judo - 10.
As a reminder, in previous Olympics, the composition of the Ukrainian team made up: in Atlanta-1996 - 230 Olympians, Sydney-2000 - 231 Olympians, Athens-2004 - 245 Olympians, Beijing-2008-254 Olympians.
