The Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Pavlo Klimkin noted the progress in the negotiation process on a simplified visa regime with the European Union, he said at the meeting of the working group on the project "National Convention of Ukraine regarding the EU" at the National Institute for Strategic Studies.
"We have a substantial progress in the visa-free issue and the simplification of visa issuing procedure. Nevertheless, we have got other pending problems, including the basic indicator of confidence in our system and its functioning and the migration component of Ukraine’s policy," he said.
In addition, Klimkin expressed a hope that Ukraine and the EU are to sign the association agreement in the near future.
He also noted that now the agreement is undergoing certain transformations due to the current crisis in the European Union.
According to Klimkin, fro the moment Ukraine needs to find an effective platform for discussions on further cooperation with the EU.
