In the hot season, the temperature conditions at the workplace should be within 18-25 °, the deputy chief state sanitary doctor of Kyiv Yuli Zhyhalov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the difference between the street and office temperature should not exceed 5-7°. "Otherwise, you can catch bronchitis, an inflammatory disease of the respiratory system, as the body's adaptive abilities are not infinite," he said.
Zhyhalov advised the workers who are not satisfied with the micro-climate at the workplace to apply to trade unions or sanitation centers.
He explained that if the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station receives relevant statements, the organization must respond and conduct laboratory inspection of the workplace climate (air temperature, humidity, air velocity).
According to him, the average cost of such testing can range from 150 to 300 UAH. "It is employer, who should pay for these measurements by. If the violations are fixed, a penalty from 51 to 425 UAH is imposed. If the violations are fixed again during the following inspections, the work of the office may be suspended. However, I do not recall such cases," he said.
Zhyhalov also said that already 55 inspections were carried out in response to complaints from the office workers. "The violations were fixed only in one case, by the humidity parameter" he concluded.
