As of July 1, 2012, 1.6 billion UAH was claimed for VAT refunds, the chairman of the State Tax Service Kyiv Department, Irina Nosacheva told during the meeting with the representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, ForUm correspondent reports.

In particular, according to her, almost two billion UAH including the balances of past periods were refunded for the period mentioned. Of them, about 1.2 billion UAH were transferred to current accounts. 100 million UAH were transferred to50 companies in automatic mode.
For six months in 2012, 7 certificates of VAT payers were issued in the capital, which is 40% more than in 2011.

"In general, as of July 1, 2012, in Kyiv there are nearly 57 thousand registered VAT payers, of whom 96.4% are legal entities and 3.6% are individuals," she said.

Nosacheva also reminded of taxpayer service centers being opened in the capital.
"They are already working in Svyatoshynsky, Podolsky, Desniansky, Dniprovsky and Darnytsky districts of Kyiv. In addition, the foreign taxpayer service center was opened," she said, adding that by 1 September this year, such centers will be opened in all districts of Kyiv.
