The general prosecutor of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka is surprised by criticism of politicians and journalists on the fact that the Verkhovna Rada has allocated extra 174 million UAH to the General Prosecutor’s Office, he said at the GPU meeting, as ForUm correspondent reports.

According to Pshonka, these funds are necessary for the implementation of the new Criminal Procedure Code, which enters into force on November 19 this year.

In particular, money will be spent on the creation of a single register of criminal cases, as well as for the arrangement of the secret rooms for procuratorial supervision.

"You should be glad not jealous, that our criminal procedure code corresponds to the modern realities," the general prosecutor said.
