The Kyiv Prosecutor's Office conducts the criminal investigation into the events of June 5 taking place during the protest rally held at the intersection of Hrushevsky and Sadova Streets near the Verkhovna Rada and Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ForUm learned from the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office press office.

The criminal case was launched on the review of applications received from the officers of the internal troops of Ukraine, informing of the infliction of bodily harm to officers on duty to ensure public order during the protest.

The Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson mentioned that the protesters tore the helmets off the officers, damaged their uniforms, took away special equipment and inflicted bodily harm.
The proceedings were initiated under the Part 2 of the Art. 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Threats or violence against a law enforcement officer”.
