Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov today has met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Hans-Jürgen Heimsoeth. The meeting took place before the official end of the diplomatic mission of Ambassador to Ukraine, ForUm learned from the Cabinet’s press office.

Mykola Azarov noted that Ukraine has always paid special importance to cooperation with Germany. "It is pleasant to note that trade turnover between our countries is growing," the Prime Minister said, commenting on the results of bilateral cooperation.

Ukrainian PM said that he personally holds control of matters relating to cooperation with Germany.
"We pay much attention to the issue of cooperation, economic issues. Thus, the vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Tihipko is responsible for the economic bloc cooperation with Germany. I own a lot of time to consider these issues, in particular on German investments," Mykola Azarov emphasized and added that he regularly meets with the representatives of German business and German politicians.

As the Prime Minister stressed, Ukraine hopes to develop both political and economic relations with Germany. "We are committed to strengthening our cooperation with Germany. German government should have no doubt that all large-scale economic projects will be supported", Mykola Azarov said.
The parties also confirmed their mutual interest in the intensive integration of Ukraine into the European Union. "We are very interested in signing agreements with the European Union on the Association, the creation of the FTA and the introduction of visa-free regime. These are fundamental values for us," the Prime Minister emphasized.

The Ambassador expressed hope that Ukraine and Germany will more fully realize the potential of bilateral cooperation. "It is important that we develop cooperation in various fields, including economic one," the diplomat said. In addition, he noted that Germany shall review Ukraine as an important country and wants it closer to the EU.

The Prime Minister thanked the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany for cooperation and assured that Ukraine will welcome him at any time.
