Today, the meeting of the conciliation board of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine may be held to discuss putting on the agenda the issue on the resignation of speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on Rules, Ethics and maintenance of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Makeyenko told ForUm correspondent.
"If the application has been already filed, the conciliation board shall meet to consider the issue and put it on the agenda. If the application is registered, the meeting of the conciliation board must be held place today," he said.
"The committees will be working during the next week. If there is a need, we will hold the plenary sessions," Makeyenko said and explained that this will be not an extraordinary session, but the changes in the current schedule.
"The Parliament has the right to change the work in the committees for the plenary session holding," he clarified.
He said that the resignation of the speaker should be considered in the session hall and it is the right of the speaker of the Parliament only to close the session.
Responding the question of ForUm correspondent what will be the procedure for dismissal of Lytvyn and if it is possible to collect 300 MPs for ballot voting, Makeyenko said that yesterday after amending the Rules of the Verkhovna Rada, he as the head of the committee endorsed the document and sent it to the speaker for putting signature.
Makeyenko said he does not know anything about the health condition of Lytvyn.
