The Verkhovna Rada chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn is on a sick leave, the MP of "BYT-Batkivshchyna" faction Yuri Odarchenko has announced at the rally near the Ukrainian House.

He reminded that on the day of the language law adoption on July 3 Lytvyn had longtime negotiations with the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich.

According to Odarchenko, Lytvyn's resignation statement that he made in the morning of July 4 is an attempt to avoid responsibility for illegal adoption of the language law, as well as for possible violations during the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"All in all Lytvyn is on a sick leave, and the law has not been signed yet," the MP said.

At the same time, as ForUm correspondent informs, the representatives of the People's Party faction haven’t informed on the sick leave of the Parliament speaker. The MPs refused to talk to journalists on this topic.
