July 1 this year, the minimum of subsistence for state social assistance increased from 80 to 100% of the minimum of subsistence for the disadvantaged families, the disabled and the senior citizens and from 50 to 75% for children, ForUm learned from the Finance Ministry of Ukraine.

"With this purpose, while introducing amendments to the State Budget of Ukraine for 2012, the total amount of subventions from the state budget to the local budgets to aid the families with children, disadvantaged families, people disabled from the childhood, disabled children and provide temporary care for children was increased to 638.9 million UAH," the statement says.

In addition, since the third quarter this year, the social standards were raised. Thus, since July 1, the size of a minimum of subsistence per person is 1044 UAH.
A minimum of subsistence for children under 6 years since April 1 this year is 917 UAH, for children from 6 to 18 years - 1144 UAH, for able-bodied persons - 1102 UAH for those who have lost their working capacity - 844 UAH.

Moreover, since the third quarter of 2012 the amount of the childbirth aid of was increased.
Since July 1, the amounts of childbirth aids are as follows: 27 510 UAH for the first child, 55 020 UAH for the second child, 110 040 UAH for the third and subsequent child.

In addition, the social allowances for children of single mothers. Since July 1, the maximum amount of assistance to children is: 458.5 UAH for children under 6 years, 572 UAH for children from 6 to 18 years, 551 UAH for children from 18 to 23 years.
