The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has sent the draft law № 3251 "On Amendments to the Constitution (as for guarantees of immunity for individual officials)" the authorship of Oleksandr Lavrynovych to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (CC).
As ForUm correspondent reports, 236 cards of MPs have voted for this decree.
The speaker on this issue, MP from the Party of Regions Yuriy Miroshnychenko said that the Committee on Legal Policy recommends sending the revised immunity bill taking into account the conclusions of the Constitutional Court back to the Constitutional Court for an urgent review.
He reminded that this legislative initiative significantly limits the immunity of MPs.
According to him, if the bill is adopted the law enforcement agencies will be able to carry out investigations into MPs, but arrest and detention will be possible only after a court decision.
