The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said that he would find his position on the language law after a detailed review and examination, he said at the meeting with the leadership of the Parliament and the parliamentary factions, ForUm learned from the President’s press office.

"Now I do not want to draw any preliminary conclusions as for the yesterday’s adoption of the law on the principles of the national language policy," Yanukovych said.

According to the President, he will certainly study this situation and hold an expert review of the law.

"I will use all the powers of the President relating to these matters. Only after I study all the issues, I will express my point of view and, accordingly, make certain decisions," he said.

 As reported, on July 3, the Parliament of Ukraine by 248 votes in favor adopted on the whole the law on the principals of national language policy by Kivalov and Kolesnichenko, which expands the rights of the Russian language in Ukraine.

The parliamentary opposition declared that the bill was passed with a large number of violations, so it is going to boycott the work of the current session, which is to end on July 6 this year according to the schedule.
