Talking about the motives of the head of the Parliament to resign, Chornovil said that "it is difficult to say what it is - a belated heroism, an attempt to self-salvation, or a sudden honesty and sincere desire to stop the illegal procedure."
"If it is heroism, it is belated. It was necessary yesterday, and today, who would believe it? " the MP said.
According to him, the actions of Lytvyn are caused by his desire to get into the Verkhovna Rada.
"Maybe, it allows Lytvyn thinking he is still able to block the process, though, knowing Lytvyn, I think he will try to regain his powers in constituency. After all, his chances to get into the Parliament are melting. So he flutters. He had to make clever steps earlier, when the Verkhovna Rada was being broken and destroyed," Chornovil said.
