The Verkhovna Rada chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn has tendered his resignation, he has announced today at the Parliament meeting.

The speaker informed that yesterday at 2.30 p.m. he was invited to the meeting of the President of Ukraine. "This event finished around 8 p.m. and by then they bluffed and scared us in full, but they fooled all Ukrainian people, not only me. I think that these curses like chickens come home to roost and we will have to deal with it soon enough," Lytvyn said.

He noted that under such circumstances "please consider my resignation and take a decision on it." His words were greeted with applause by journalists and assistants.

Lytvyn asked to put this issue on the agenda of the Parliament.
