Mykola Tomenko submitted resignation from the position of the vice speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, he told a briefing in the Parliament today.Moreover, he added that the language law adoption put an end to the work of the Parliament of the current convocation.

As reported, on June 3, the Parliament of Ukraine adopted on the whole the controversial language law by Kivalov and Kolesnichenko.

The law was supported by all the members of the People's Party, the Party of Regions and the Communist Party, two members of the Reforms for the Future group and ten individual MPs. The total number of votes was 248 out of 364 registered in the session.

Moreover, the Verkhovna Pada website states that Tomenko also voted in favor. However, he stated he had already filed an appeal to the court and the prosecutor's office about the voting by his card in favor of the language law.
