In the period from June 9 to June 28, 2012, the former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is currently in Ukrzaliznytsia's Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv, constantly and actively communicated with her defense lawyers and other visitors, as ForUm learned from the press office of the State Penitentiary Service.

"In particular, over this period, the prisoner had a number of lengthy meetings with foreign politicians and representatives of international organizations. In general, over the period of her rehabilitation in the medical institution, her activity in communication with guests (compared with the period of her stay in prison) has increased significantly," the statement says.

"In particular, she had 32 meetings with defense lawyers that together lasted more than 90 hours, nine meetings with foreign politicians that together lasted about 24 hours, as well as two meetings with relatives that together lasted about eight hours," the service reported, adding that the German and Ukrainian doctors had no complaints regarding these contacts and demands for time.

"At the same time, we would like to remind you that over this period, Tymoshenko has repeatedly refused to participate in court sessions on cases against her," the statement says.
