"Tax officers perform one of the most important and hardest state functions – fill its treasury. Due to your work state ensures comprehensive functioning of schools and hospitals, universities and cultural facilities, fulfills its obligations on social protection of citizens," the President said at the celebrations on occasion of Day of Tax Service, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
The President noted that today tax service provides almost two thirds of the revenues of consolidated budget of our country. He pointed out that during 5 months of the current year more than 120 billion UAH have been collected, i.e. almost 11% more than the same period last year.
President Yanukovych expressed confidence that in conditions of providing economic reforms aimed at system modernization of the country the role of State Tax Service broadly exceeds usual fiscal functions. "Tasks of the time demonstrate that there is a hard and responsible work to face. I am confident that you are able to cope with it," he said. The President wished tax officers success in their responsible work.
