A monument to the commanded-in-chief of Ukrainian rebel army Roman Shukhevych has been opened in Kalush city, Ivano-Frankivsk region on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of his birthday.
The guests of the ceremony included local officials and representatives of OUN-UPA organizations, including mayor of Kalush Ihor Nasalyk and Roman's son Yuri Shukhevych, Hero of Ukraine.
After the solemn opening and performing of national and OUN-UPA hymns, the monument was blessed by Ivano-Frankivsk Metropolitan.
The bronze monument on granite platform, 4.5 meters high was projected by Kalush sculptor Ihor Semak.
