If MPs really wanted to cancel the immunity, they would do it, the former president of Ukraine, the Constitutional Assembly chairman Leonid Kravchuk said in his interview on June 27, as ForUm reports.

He noted that this issue as well as the language one is always raised before the elections.

"The cancellation of deputy immunity has been put on the agenda since Ukraine became independent. And every time it happened before the elections," Kravchuk said.

The former president has called these processes the dangerous game. He added that it is necessary to understand all the circumstances and consequences before raising the question of immunity cancellation.

"This is a political hogwash. If MPs wanted to cancel the immunity, they would do it," Kravchuk said.

As a reminder, on June 20 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine sent the bill on cancellation of immunity of MPs, the President and the judges to the Constitutional Court.
