Evaluating the progress of harvest campaign, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov told that this year's grain harvest will be enough for the internal needs of the country and for export as well, ForUm corrspondent reports.

"The harvesting campaign started two weeks earlier than last year because of the heat. We have rather optimistic forecast: the gross grain harvest will be sufficient for ensuring domestic needs, food security of the country and for export," he said at the Cabinet’s meeting.

According to Azarov, the yield of specific lots in the western and the northern regions of Ukraine will be at the level of the last year. In the southern and eastern regions it will be somewhat lower due to last year's drought.

He also said that early grain harvesting has already started in 13 regions of Ukraine. The crops have been got in nearly half a million hectares. According to Azarov, 800 thousand tons of grain have been grounded already.
