Court appointed Tymoshenko medicolegal investigation

The Kyiv district court of Kharkiv has appointed the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko medicolegal investigation and postponed the hearing on the case to 10 a.m., July 10, 2012. Such a decision was delivered at the court hearing on the UESU case.

At the request of the court employees, the journalists left the courtroom. The court, having returned from the deliberations room, denied the motion made by the lawyers of Tymoshenko on ceasing the proceedings because of the prolonged illness of the defendant.

The denial was reasoned by the fact that since the commencement of the trial of the case, precisely since March, 29 and until the present time, the court has received no precise information about the health condition of Tymoshenko. Therefore, the court decided to appoint medicolegal investigation.

The judge noted that if the ex-Prime Minister refuses the investigation, it can be carried out on the basis of the existing medical records. The decision is final and cannot be appealed.
