The former emergency situations minister of Ukraine Nestor Shufrych was elected the member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
At today’s XXVI meeting of the General Assembly, all the members of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine voted in favor of this decision, ForUm correspondent reports.
The decision to appoint Shufrych was taken since the representative of the Federation of Figure Skating of Ukraine Lyudmyla Suprun withdrew the membership of the Olympic Committee to become the Honorary President of the Federation.
The NOC President Serhiy Bubka explained that under the statutes, the NOC’s Executive Committee shall include 29 members.
In his new position Nestor Shufrych heads the Federation of Archery of Ukraine.
