According to him, after the construction ending, finishing work are to begin, and by the second quarter of 2013 the building is to be set into operation. "It is very important. The lives of our children depend on this hospital. The parents have been waiting for this building, new technologies and new methods of treatment in general for many decades. We should break with practices of years-long healthcare facilities construction. We should implement new methods modernizing our healthcare," the Prime Minister said.
Azarov also added that on Thursday, June 21, he will open the sixth modern regional perinatal center in Dnipropetrivsk within the frameworks of the New Life National Project. "The five centers have been built in shortest possible time. In the next couple of years, their network is to cover the entire country. This is a part of an ambitious program of healthcare modernization. The completion of the new building of the Okhmatdet hospital is an important element of this program as well. Now we have the opportunity and ready assets to implement such programs," Azarov said, underlining that he personally supervises the construction of the new Kyiv children's hospital infrastructure.
As reported by ForUm, the total estimated cost of the National Children's Specialized Hospital Okhmatdet reconstruction is about 800 million UAH.
